How Many??

At the close of this day of in  the land of plenty think about how many innocent animals died today, because of a toss of the human hand. A toss of a plastic item that drew the attention of the animal perhaps by scent or looks. The item could have been tossed out of a car window on the highway or country road, it could have been tossed on the sunny beach or even at pleasurable place of play. The one who  tossed the plastic item perhaps was in a hurry, lazy or just did not care. At any rate how many creatures of nature lost their lives to plastic today?
